Founded in 2013 by returning youth Huang Jia-Xiang and his wife Huang Jing-Wen, PuraVida Herbs draws inspiration from the Costa Rican greeting “Pura Vida”—meaning “pure life”. It reflects a love for nature and for living authentically. The name PuraVida Herbs embodies “Pure Herbal Life”, expressing the brand’s mission to weave herbs into everyday living.
Co-founder Huang Jia-Xiang graduated from Tamshui Commercial & Industrial Vocational School and the Department of Horticulture at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. His agricultural journey took him to Costa Rica, Panama, and Bahrain before returning to Taiwan. In Ji’an, Hualien, he chose to put down roots, cultivating herbs and creating a joyful farm that embodies both discovery and delight.

We believe herbs not only carry abundant vitality but also bring purity and joy to daily life. For us, planting is a pleasure, and sharing the beauty of herbs is our mission.

At PuraVida’s herb garden, we cultivate over 50 varieties from Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Adhering to natural growth principles, the herbs are watered only 2–3 times a year, allowing them to develop in harmony with the seasons while maintaining rich aroma and healthy quality.
